A real working steam locomotive as a model

A painting demonstration by Cliff Austin
A short presentation on the workings of a Steam Locomotive, by a historical re-enactor
Lunch is provided
A short pose by a female re-enactor (Victorian clothing)
Paint & photograh the engine all day
An Artists's Happy Hour from 3-4 to share your art with the other artists and instructor
Buffalo Bill Daze (August 26, 27, 28)
Buffalo Bill Cody, the great Western entertainer and showman, appeared in Georgetown on at least two occasions. In 1879, and again in 1886, he performed at the McClellan Theater. And it is documented that on those trips he and his troop traveled by rail to Georgetown. During Buffalo Bill Daze, we celebrate Buffalo Bill's time spent here. You can actually ride the train with Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley, and other re-enactors. Activities include live music, cowboy poetry, art demonstrations, live street/chald art, an art show, photo opportunites throuout the park, and more.
Pumpkin Festival Trains (October 1, 2, 8, & 9)
This ever popular event is back with a new location for your enjoyment on the first two weekends of October. These excursions are a great favorite of children, their parents, and grandparents.
The festival is set up at the Silver Plume car museum, where we have a ‘BOUNCIE’ castle, Pumpkins for kids to decorate and take home, games, face painting, and some wonderful characters to entertain the little ones.
Oktoberfest Trains (October 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30)
We have a free Colorado micro brew beer tasting for all adult riders, (root beer for the younger ones) and a free bratwurst or hot dog for all riders. Come enjoy the crisp fall days as you ride on the Georgetown Loop.
Big Horn Sheep Festival (November 12)
Join us as the Colorado Division of Wildlife boards the train to talk about our famous Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep. The Big Horns are headed down valley for warmer environments for the winter. A special viewing area is setup just North of the town of Georgetown next to the lake.
Santa’s North Pole Adventure (November 19 through January 1)
Santa returns in mid-November to pass out more presents and treats. Join Santa and his helpers aboard decorated, enclosed, heated coaches on weekends starting Nov 21st, the weekend before Thanksgiving, through Dec 14th, and then daily through Dec 24th. After the holiday, from Dec 26 though the 4th of Jan, except Jan 1st, Santa comes back on vacation, and will be passing out goodies to the little ones.
Santa's Lighted Forest Train (November 19 through December 31)
Offered evenings in late November and through December, this ride allows you to relax from your shopping endeavors and join us for a beautiful synchronized holiday music & light show in the forest above Georgetown. Join Santa and his helpers while winding through the beautiful snow covered Colorado Rocky Mountains in our enclosed heated coaches. It is a unique wintertime experience!
